Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 13, 2026 | Last Updated: March 13, 2026
The Waikele Community Association (WCA) is committed to protecting the privacy of our members and residents. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website at waikelecommunityassociation.org or interact with us through our community registration and communication channels. Mahalo for trusting us with your information — we take that trust seriously.
1. Who We Are
The Waikele Community Association (WCA) is the master homeowners association serving the Waikele master-planned community on the leeward side of O'ahu, Hawai'i — home to 2,937 families. We have proudly served our community since 1990. Our mission is to provide a beautiful and safe community where families can live, work, play, and continue to grow, guided by the spirit of Aloha.
2. Information We Collect
When you register as a member, sign up for community notifications, or submit a form on our website, we may collect the following types of personal information:
- Full name
- Waikele residential address
- Email address
- Phone number (for SMS/text notifications)
- Mailing address (if different from property address)
- Any additional information you voluntarily provide through forms or correspondence with our office
We collect this information only when you voluntarily provide it through registration, membership forms, or opt-in communication sign-ups.
3. How We Use Your Information
The personal information you provide is used exclusively for community-related communications on behalf of the Waikele Community Association. Specifically, we use your contact information to send:
- Community event announcements – upcoming events, neighborhood gatherings, programs, and activities
- Neighborhood updates – landscaping, common area news, board meeting notices, and association announcements
- Safety alerts and notifications – urgent community safety notices, Neighborhood Security Watch (NSW) updates, Citizens Patrol information, and emergency alerts
- Neighborhood concerns – CC&R reminders, covenant updates, and community guidelines
- Website content notifications – new articles, blog posts, and resources published on waikelecommunityassociation.org relevant to Waikele residents
All communications sent by WCA are directly related to the Waikele community and the services, programs, and events we provide to our members.
4. What We Will Never Do With Your Information
We will never sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial marketing or promotional purposes unrelated to the Waikele Community Association. We do not use your contact information to promote outside products, services, or organizations that are not directly affiliated with or relevant to the WCA community.
5. Communications: Email & Text (SMS) Messaging
By registering on our website or submitting your contact information, you consent to receive email and/or SMS text message communications from the Waikele Community Association. These messages will only contain information relevant to our community as described in Section 3 above.
✅ Every email blast and every text message sent by the Waikele Community Association will include a clear and easy way to opt out. You will never receive a WCA communication without a visible unsubscribe or opt-out option included.
Message frequency will vary based on community activity and the nature of notifications (routine updates vs. urgent safety alerts).
Standard message and data rates may apply to SMS messages depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
6. Your Right to Opt Out — Always
You are free to opt out of WCA communications at any time — no questions asked. Every email and text message we send will always include a built-in opt-out option, making it easy to unsubscribe with a single click or reply. Here are all the ways you can opt out:
- Email: Every WCA email blast includes an "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom. Click it at any time to be immediately removed from our email list.
- SMS/Text: Every WCA text message includes opt-out instructions. Simply reply STOP to any text message to immediately unsubscribe from SMS notifications.
- Email or Call: Contact our office directly at info@wca-ohana.org or call (808) 676-1991 to request removal from any or all communication lists.
We respect your choices. Once you opt out, your request will be honored promptly. You will not be re-added to any communication list without your express consent. Please note that certain formal administrative or legal notices required under your HOA membership obligations may still be delivered as necessary by law.
7. Updating Your Information
